Backpack Air: Safe Hose Routing & Field Use
Carry a compact tank without drama. Route the hose cleanly, avoid pinch points, and follow a simple routine that keeps fills safe and field sessions smooth.

Why routing matters
Clean hose paths prevent kinks, sudden tugs, and heat from sharp bends. Good routing also makes on/off connects faster and safer.
Backpack setup
• Secure the tank upright so it can’t roll or tip.
• Use the pack’s pass-through or a dedicated hose port—no zipper pinches.
• Keep the valve closed while moving; open only when stationary.
• Leave enough slack for shooting position changes without dragging the pack.
Clean routing rules
• Avoid 90° bends near the valve or quick-disconnect.
• Keep the hose outside shoulder straps and away from buckles.
• If you sling the rifle, check the sling path against the hose path.
• Coil the spare length loosely; never wrap tight around straps.
Safe use in the field
• Before filling, check O-rings and threads; attach firmly.
• Open the valve slowly, watch the gauge, and pause near target pressure.
• Top off with brief pulses; close the valve and bleed the line fully before disconnecting.
• Cap ports and dust covers before moving again.
Quick troubleshooting
• Hose feels warm? Pause and let it cool; review for tight bends.
• Repeated kinks? Shorten the run or switch to a more flexible hose.
• Snag hazards? Reroute away from sling swivels, bipod legs, or belt gear.
