2L or 6.8L? Choosing the Right SA Air System
The SA Private Air Tank and SA Major Air Tank run at the same working pressure and use the same valve and hose. The difference is capacity. Here’s how to choose the right setup for the way you shoot.
A dependable air setup starts with a simple question: how much air do you need to carry?
The available SA Air System is built around two carbon-fibre tanks. The compact SA Private Air Tank holds 2 L. The larger SA Major Air Tank holds 6.8 L. Both have a working pressure of 310 bar (4,500 psi), use the SA ADJT SB Valve and connect to the rifle through the SA Sparky MkII Hose.
SA Private Air Tank: compact and portable
Choose the SA Private Air Tank when portability matters most.
The 2 L tank measures 110 × 340 mm (4.33 × 13.4 in). It weighs 1.7 kg (3.75 lb) on its own or 2.0 kg (4.4 lb) with the valve fitted. That makes it easy to carry for everyday range sessions or field use.
Its carbon-fibre construction keeps weight down, while the aluminium liner and CE approval provide a proven pressure-vessel design. An SA Neoprene Sleeve is included for grip, protection and more comfortable handling.
The SA Private Air Backpack is the natural carry option for this setup.
SA Major Air Tank: more air for longer sessions
Choose the SA Major Air Tank when capacity takes priority.
Its 6.8 L volume gives you more air between refills, making it better suited to long training days, competitions and shared range sessions. The unfilled tank weighs 3.9 kg (8.6 lb), excluding the valve and sleeve.
Like the Private tank, the Major uses carbon fibre over an aluminium liner and is CE approved. It also includes an SA Neoprene Sleeve as standard.
The SA Major Range Bag keeps the tank protected during transport and can hold it upright for easier access while filling.
One valve across the system
Both tanks use the SA ADJT SB Valve. This Swedish-made valve gives you separate analogue gauges for cylinder pressure and filling pressure, keeping both readings visible.
A side-positioned bleed valve supports controlled pressure release, while a burst disc adds built-in protection. The same valve fits every current SA tank, so moving between the Private and Major does not require a different control system.
Complete the connection
The 1.2 m (47.2 in) SA Sparky MkII Hose completes the line from tank to rifle.
Its stainless-steel braid protects a flexible polyurethane core. Anti-kink sleeves reinforce the areas that bend most, while quick-detach connectors and the tall grip make connection and removal straightforward. It is rated to the same 310 bar (4,500 psi) working pressure as the tanks.
Which setup should you choose?
Choose the SA Private Air Tank if you want a compact system that is easy to carry.
Choose the SA Major Air Tank if you want more capacity and fewer interruptions during longer sessions.
Whichever size fits your shooting, the SA ADJT SB Valve and SA Sparky MkII Hose give you one consistent connection from tank to rifle.
