Zeroing the SA LRS Riflescope: From 25 m to 100 m
A clean, repeatable zero workflow for the SA LRS: mount level, start at 25 m to get on paper, confirm at 50–100 m, and record DOPE you can trust.

Why this workflow works
Starting close speeds up corrections and saves ammo. Stepping back to 50–100 m confirms tracking and gives you dope that holds between sessions.
Mount and level
• Mount the optic level to the rifle’s bore line and confirm with a visible bubble or tool.
• Set eye relief so your head stays neutral behind the scope.
• Tighten evenly to spec on rings and bases; witness-mark key screws.
Get on paper at 25 m
• Boresight or use a large, high-contrast target.
• Fire a careful 3-shot group and measure the offset to point of aim.
• Dial the measured correction; shoot again to verify you’re centered.
Confirm at 50–100 m
• Move to your chosen distance (50–100 m) and shoot a 3–5 shot group.
• Dial the exact correction to bring the group to point of aim.
• Fire a confirming group; note light/wind so you don’t chase environmental noise.
Tracking and return-to-zero check
• Dial up a known number of clicks and back down; verify the group returns to zero.
• If tracking looks off, repeat the test once to rule out shooter error, then note the result.
Record usable data
• Write down final zero distance, conditions, and dope for common distances.
• Save a simple card or phone note you can reference at the range.
Common mistakes to avoid
• Leveling to the top rail only—verify against the bore line.
• Chasing wind shifts; pick calmer moments for final zero.
• Mixing bag height or bipod position mid-process without rechecking level and NPA.
• Over-torquing rings and crushing interfaces.
Mini-FAQ
Q: 25 m or 50 m first?
A: 25 m gets you centered fast; then confirm and finalize at 50–100 m to lock in usable dope.
Q: How many shots per step?
A: Three to five shot groups balance speed and confidence. Singles can mislead; big strings waste time.
Q: Should I re-zero after travel?
A: Do a quick confirmation group. If witness marks moved or groups shift, recheck torque and level, then confirm.
